Cookie policy
Last updated October 3, 2026.
Cookies are small files a site saves in your browser. Pixels are bits of code that tell another company when something happens on a page, like a purchase. This page lists the ones on bymae.com and how to change your choice.
1. How your choice works
The first time you visit, a banner asks what to allow. Analytics and marketing and ads stay off until you say yes. The cookies the store needs are always on, because the cart and checkout don’t work without them.
One thing runs from your first page: byMae’s own visit counter. It uses no cookies and doesn’t save your IP address with what it records. It records the page, the site that sent you, your device type and a random number that changes every visit, so it can’t follow you from one visit to the next.
To change your choice, tap Cookie preferences at the bottom of any page, or use the button above.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, marketing and ads stay off in that browser, and we treat it as a request to opt out of selling and sharing.
Your choice is saved in this browser. If you clear your cookies or use another device, the banner asks again.
Videos from other sites wait for marketing and ads. Until you allow them, you’ll see a still frame and “This video plays once cookies are accepted.”
Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline cookies if you prefer. If you block the ones the store needs, checkout won’t work.
2. Needed to run the store
Always on.
| Company | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Shopify | Keeps your cart, checkout, sign-in and currency working, and remembers your cookie choice. | 14 days to 1 year |
| Shop Pay (Shopify) | Recognizes you at checkout if you use Shop Pay. | 1 year |
3. Analytics
Off until you say yes. These show us how the site gets used and where a page goes wrong.
| Company | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Counts visits and shows which pages people use. | Set by the provider |
| Shopify | Counts visits and sales for our store reports. | Set by the provider |
| Judge.me | Counts how people use the reviews on our product pages. | Set by the provider |
| Ahrefs | Counts visits to our pages. | Set by the provider |
4. Marketing and ads
Off until you say yes. Meta, Google, Pinterest and YouTube can also use what they collect for their own advertising, on other sites and over time. Some state laws call that selling or sharing personal information. Saying no, or sending Global Privacy Control, opts you out.
| Company | What it does | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Measures our ads and shows them to people likely to want byMae. | Set by the provider |
| Google Ads | Measures our ads and shows them on Google and other sites. | 90 to 400 days |
| Measures our ads and shows them on Pinterest. | Set by the provider | |
| Triple Whale | Shows us which ads led to orders. | Kept in your browser’s storage until you clear it |
| Klaviyo | Notes the products you view and add to your cart once you’ve signed up for emails, so our emails fit. The sign-up box at the bottom of every page works whatever you choose here. | Set by the provider |
| UpPromote | Gives an affiliate credit when their link brought you here. | 1 year |
| YouTube (Google) | Plays videos on our pages. Google can use what it collects for ads. | Until you close your browser, up to 180 days |
| Shopify | Notes which ad or link brought you to the store. | Set by the provider |
